Cryogenic resistors: Murzy Jhabvala and colleagues at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center are producing very high value (up to ~600 megohms), low-noise chip resistors suitable for cryogenic use down to liquid-helium temperatures (and below). The resistors are thin-film Si-Cr deposited on quartz substrates. The specific resistor geometry can be application tailored but for high yield 3-4 micron lines and spaces have been baselined.
